Golfing

The Vail Valley has more big-name designer golf courses than any other ski community in the nation. Developing a world-class golf course in a climate that allowed less than six months of play was historically considered to be cost-prohibitive. Pioneers of golf in the Vail Valley began funding their golf dreams with revenue from luxury home developments, resulting in fabulous golf communities throughout the Vail Valley.

Vail’s original golf course is located one mile east of the ski area and is owned and operated by the Town of Vail. Citizens of Vail have the option to buy a season pass, while most tee times are reserved for the public at large. The Eagle Vail community, just west of Vail, also has a public golf course which has excellent mountain holes and offers primarily public access.

When golf is a primary lifestyle choice, Vail’s private golf communities, where home ownership or hotel affiliation is required, is the most compelling opportunity.
